Lightning Arresters in a ‘Voltage Relief Valve which remain closed until voltage on the system rises to the level which causes valves to open. The valve then diverts the lightning harmlessly to the ground, thus keeping the equipment safe. Lightning arrestors rates from 1.1/6.6/9/18/30 KV etc. distribution, station and Augured type etc. Copper LA is only put on the roof of the building to safeguard from natural lightning.
